Subject: Travel Guitar?

Hey Friend,

Travel Friday!

So I'm considering purchasing a "You Rock Guitar." What's a "You Rock Guitar," you ask?

It's actually a virtual controller set up as a guitar that you can also use to play other virtual instruments. Even though I'm only traveling for a few weeks (I was thinking about it as a travel guitar), it would be great to have because of its capabilities.

Most virtual instrument and MIDI controllers are keyboards. That in itself makes the YRG a bit different, but the YRG has a full 22 fret neck and strings that trigger the signals to produce the sounds. It's a full-fledged MIDI controller. Like their website says, a "keyboard for guitarists."

This instrument attaches to your computer via a USB cable aand you can use it to record music to scoring software. That's actually where most of my interest lies, since I like making exercises for you!

Instead of having to do everything by hand, I could simply play what I want written down. Theoretically, that could increase my productivity and speed.

The reviews for the YRG are all over the place, so there's still more research to do, but it could be an  option. It certainly doesn't replace a real guitar!

Okay, gotta fly now! Y'all enjoy your Friday - weekend is here!

Peace~

Dave
