Ha! Did you ever see the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode where Jean Claude Picard is turned into a Borg? His Borg name was 'Locutus.’
That’s what I think of when I hear the name of the next mode - Locrian. There’s obviously no connection, but you know our brains make strange associations every once in a while!
The Locrian mode is initiated on the seventh scale degree, which is B in this case (key of C major). We’re almost to the end of the cycle…
This exercise starts with the Aeolian mode as we work the scale from the sixth string to the first. We'll transition to Locrian mode and work our way back down, ending on the B note.
