Hey Friend,
It's Election Day in the USA! Time to determine who's going to be the President for the next four years. For once, I don't agree with the great Willy Wonka when he said "The suspense is terrible! I hope it will last." I can't wait for this to be over.
It has been ugly and divisive. I think my 18 yo daughter put it best - middle-aged "adults" acting like middle-schoolers. Clearly the good of the Country is less important than getting in the best insult. No one knows the future, but if our politicians can't pull their collective heads out of their "third points of contact," it won't matter who wins this election. I'm not holding my breathe...
Anyhoo...
I came across a cool video last night that talks about something near and dear to my heat - triads. I've been teaching you many of the various triads you can use for each guitar chord we study, and this video ties some things together nicely.
Tyler Larson teaches guitar through his website, " Music is Win," courses and his Youtube channel.
In this video, he demonstrates his lesson using three chords - G, D and C major, which you should remember as the major triads in the key of G major. The progression is actually I V IV, and he runs through various iterations of each triad up and down then neck.
Since we're working in the key of D major, you can do the same thing. Use the D, A and G in succession.
But take a listen/watch to see him demonstrate. It's some good stuff.
I'll get back to the key of D major tomorrow, I promise.
Peace~
