Subject: Sunday, Veggin’ Sunday...

Hey Friend,

Getting a late start this morning, and I’m pretty distracted, to be honest.

I had a song in my head (The Red Barchetta, by Rush), which had me jumping over to Youtube. Of course, before I had a chance to play the video, I got sucked into other suggestions…

I watched a bunch of late 70s and early 80s Rock videos by The Babys and Jefferson Starship. What can I say, my musical roots run deep and often pull me back to my first days in the band.

I enjoy going back to these because in many cases I can watch the artists in action and try to follow their playing. And you never know what gems Youtube is going to uncover.

I recently watched an instructional video by Alex Lifeson as he showed how to play Limelight.

Now, I’m always in awe at the the intricacy and precision of Rush’s music, so this particular video was an eye-opener to me. What struck me is how down-to-earth Alex is and his openness.

On top of that, I expected maestro level playing, but I was pleased that he’s as human as any of us with little mistakes here and there.

Not saying I’m anywhere near as good as he is, but it gives me hope!

Anyway, enjoy your Sunday, and maybe you’ll veg out in front of some Rock vids, too.

Peace~
