Hey Friend,

Starting next week, we're going to begin the deep dive into all the chords. As I've mentioned before, we're going to break things down first by key and the chords that fit naturally into that key. Each chord will have its "day in the sun" as I explain its construction and voicings, possible chord substitutions and more. 

I also mentioned that we're going to figure this out along the way. We'll see how the initial approach works and determine if there are tweaks needed.

This will be a long-term theme - consider it the beginning of The Chord Clinic. At some point along the way, depending on how it goes, I will turn this into either a subscription based model to include group coaching sessions and maybe even one-on-one lessons, or it will be a big course.

For you, because you're already in the fold, all this content you receive is free for now. Once I move it to more of a membership model or a large course, anyone new coming in will likely have to sign up for a paid subscription. 

I've been growing this site now for over eight years. It's definitely not free for me to keep it functioning, and compared to many other sites, I really haven't asked for support from you other than some advertising and promoting some products (including my ebook Easy Power Chords). 

I keep this site going because I love guitar and I like helping people learn how to play guitar. I'm sorry sometimes my personal life bleeds over into the daily email. Just like you, I have frustrations and being a musician, I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. It's not in any way to try and get you to feel bad for me - I guess I just want you to know I'm a real person with the same types of challenges everyone else has. Sometimes a friend needs someone's shoulder...

And that's what I consider you - a friend who has a mutual interest in guitar and musicianship. 

I get upset with things happening in the world, and I have opinions (just like you). Sometimes I'm going to share them, and we may not have the same point of view. Whether you like it or not, everything that happens to you and around you is the music of your life. Events mold your ideas and actions. They can change your perspective. They affect the music that comes out of you - and me. So I share my thoughts... maybe too much.

Sorry, I got off on a tangent and went down a rabbit hole - emotional musician here...

It is what it is. You do what you do, and I'll do what I do. Let's just try not to step on each other's toes... I guess if I ever tick you off enough, there's the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email. I'd hate for you to go, but don't worry, we'll still be friends.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy what's coming. Expect a crap-load of detail about each chord. You're gonna know where to find the chord in every position on the guitar neck, and if you stick around long enough, you'll be a chord master... Heck, we both will be!
