Hey Friend,
Taking another little break from arpeggiated chords, I came across a lesson highlighting some awesome chord substitutions you can use to add color to your basic chords.
The lesson is targeted towards beginning guitar players, but there’s a lot there for anyone who wants to get away from the "same old, same old.”
This lesson comes from Darrell Braun. He contributed this to Guitar World online as a good way for newer guitarists to learn easier fingerings for chords in the key of G major.
Now these aren’t all the standard triads typically taught when learning the harmonic progression, but they definitely expand the emotional possibilities you have at your fingertips.
The bonus with this lesson is these chords only require you to use two fingers on the fingerboard. I know that’s a real concern for many people when starting out. Getting the fingers tamed and trained is probably one of the biggest challenges we face when learning guitar.
Hope your weekend is starting off well and you have lots of fun in store. Have a great one!
Peace~
Dave
