Apologies to you...

As you may have guessed by now, we lost power and internet service down here in Orlando. 

Overall, we were extremely fortunate. I’m not sure what the winds clocked in at, but with them howling outside and tree branches coming down on all four sides of the house, no one really cared what the wind speed was!

The property is a mess, but none of the trees decided it was their time to fall yet. For that we are grateful!

Because we are on well water, we had no running water for two days. It quickly became an interesting exercise in makeshift toilet flushing and hand washing. Not to mention the “camping shower” outside. 

Of course, electricity came back on AFTER we had all taken cold camp showers, ha ha!

I’m not complaining, truly. 

I have a real sense of gratitude for electricity and the folks that supply us with it. Yeah, we grumble about the cost from time to time, but wow, living without for a couple days is a good “be thankful for what you’ve got” reminder!

I told my daughters the other day we were "living ‘The Walking Dead’ lifestyle minus the actual walking dead." I think they appreciate what we've got a little bit more today, too.

The electric power dropped early Monday morning as Irma spanked Central Florida. While we had the power restored within 48 hours, our internet connection didn’t come back online until yesterday afternoon.

Now that internet service is working again, I can quit slacking and get back to work again. 

Thanks for all the well-wishes and thoughts/prayers while we played natural disaster Bingo. We’ll get back to playing guitars tomorrow. Have a great Friday!
