Subject: Making Friends

Hey Friend,

Well, I have confirmed there is no guitar shop in Lumberton. Yesterday it came out at work that I'm a guitar player.  Fayetteville does indeed have the closest music store, and I don't have a schedule that will let me get up there...

That did turn into a cool gear conversation with one of the guys in the office. He's rocking a custom Kustom tube amplifier and an ESP guitar. I don't remember which models he's got, but he did have a picture. The amp was lit up with blue LEDs, or they could have been neon.

It was a good looking rig. We didn't have a chance to talk about how he's using it, but I think that conversation will come...

One of the other guys in the office is a drummer, so it's shaping up to be a good crowd to work with.

I've gotten used to the idea that many people who work in IT are also musicians. There are similarities between the two areas that seem to make them a good fit together as far as jobs and hobbies go.

Musicians tend to be somewhat technical, and technical people like the creative aspect of music. I didn't get the connection when I stated getting back into music, but it makes sense to  me now.

Alright, duty calls. I must get back to it. Enjoy your day and do some playing for me... Please?

Peace~

Dave
