Subject: Made It To the Minors...

Hey Friend,

Today’s exercise brings us up to incorporating the Aeolian mode (VI) into the fun.

We start in the Mixolydian mode and work up the scale, but on the return we’ll transition into the Aeolian mode and end on that.

If you remember, the Aeolian mode is the one that gives us the relative minor key to the major key you happen to be playing in.

That’s C major (in case you forgot). So playing in C, the Mixolydian mode starts on the fifth scale degree, or the G note.

G A B C D E F

Aeolian moves us to the sixth scale degree, which is A.

A B C D E F G

Okay, let’s get to it.

There wasn’t a need to create a separate set of exercises for acoustic guitar because both scale patterns are very easy to access on the guitar neck.

Hope you have a great Saturday!

Peace~
