Subject: Just Like Blackbeard...

Hey Friend,

Well, running with my hair on fire again!

I put together a series of exercises giving examples of the perfect fifth interval being used in in various scenarios, but I’ll need to come back to it for the lesson.

The exercises are split up in sections by a bar in between, so you have a little time to get your fingers ready for the next section.

I included demonstrations of patterns on the guitar neck that give you a perfect fifth interval, and then some examples of them used in songs.

Then there’s a section of power chords - because they're created by combining the one and five notes from a major/minor scale.

Again, the main idea here is for you to get familiar with patterns on the fingerboard that accelerate your skill.

When you memorize patterns (and see that they repeat all over the neck), you’re fingers learn very quickly where they can go. Your ears also get very attuned to correct pitches as well.

We’ll talk more about the exercises on Friday after you’ve had a chance to try them out. Have a great one!

Peace~

Dave
