Hey Friend,
Ah, Europe… I thought the song was cool in the 80s when it came out, but I’m kinda over it. But it’s a nice segue...
Alright, are we ready for the final slog of the year, pushing to Christmas and New Years?
Seems a bit strange to be talking about the holidays already - didn’t we just do this?
We’ve talked about a lot of things this year, from the chords of major and minor keys, to the intervals that make up each key and the resulting scales. We’re not done yet, so tomorrow I’m going to help you expand your finger dexterity by taking these modal scales and making riffs out of them.
You’re still going to be practicing the various scales, but these exercises will force your fingers out of their comfort zone a bit. Each note of a scale has a tonal relationship to all the others of that scale, and these exercises are going to help your ears and fingers make the connections faster.
Like with the modes, I've got to review the tabs and make sure they’re solid before I send them to you. I’ve got some new exercise ideas as well, so there’ll be fun for everyone!
Before I let you go, one last reminder that Jamplay is 75% off through midnight tonight. Cyber Monday Madness!
You can sign up for a full month of access to all the songs and online lessons they offer, as well as the live training and Q&A.
Down the left-hand side of the page are red buttons to take you various sections. If you click on one, you can then drill into free sample lessons. For example, click “Learn a Skill.” Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see a section for Care and Maintenance of your guitar.
In there is a free lesson on how to change out the input jack on your guitar. Been there, done that, and I had to figure it out on my own - but you wouldn’t have to with this handy guide. It’s all laid out for you in easy-to-follow instructions and video.
It’s all included in the price of admission - and you can get it for $5 right now. But you gotta act today, because after midnight tonight, the price goes back up to $20.
Hey, for $5, it’s a pretty sweet deal! And if you don’t like it, cancel. No harm, no foul.
They even guarantee you’ll be 100% satisfied or give you your money back. It’s a no-brainer.
Peace~
Dave
