Hey Friend,
As of 10:00 last night, the population in our house increased 125%! And everyone was up nice and early, so getting some quiet time to collect my thoughts has been impossible. The next two days are going to be crazy!
I'm feeling bad because I haven't been able to put together any guitar exercises for you, but I promise, I will make it up to you soon.
I did want to quickly tell you about an email reply I got back after writing about the You Rock Guitar. Barry O. told me he tried one out but it wasn't all it's cracked up to be. I appreciate that Barry! Saves me from making a potential mistake.
He had another suggestion - the Voyage-Air folding guitar. I've seen these before, but one thing I've wondered about is the strings. When you fold the neck over across the body, do the strings get crimped?
Apparently, not that big an issue. As I watched through some of the videos, there are professional guitarists using these axes all over the place. John Oates (of Hall and Oates) was on an interview and asked about his Voyage-Air guitar. That's a strong enough endorsement for me to put my concerns aside! Watch some of the videos - especially their story on Shark Tank - good stuff!
I don't know that I'll end up getting one since I'll only be traveling for a couple more weeks, but boy, if I was on the road a lot, I'd seriously consider this guitar.
Gotta run - lots to do, and not much time to do it. My daughter's graduation party is today and I've got a list a mile long to do. Back at you tomorrow!
Peace~
Dave
P.S. - While I'm getting my "stuff" together, you can practice playing your chords. If you're still having trouble with chords, Easy Power Chords can help. I give you tons of substitute chords to use while you get your fingers strong enough to do barre chords, but power chords are used in Rock recordings all the time. Check out Easy Power Chords right here.
