Subject: Here's a Riff

Hey Friend,

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's exercise is a bit more musical than what we did yesterday. We're still moving in a consecutive fashion - this time we're descending the harmonic scale. But I changed the note values and increased the tempo (speed). This is a bit faster than what you're used to (at least from the normal exercise tempo).

I'm starting you on E major and walking down from there, with triads focused only on the second, third and fourth strings. you can very easily strum these, or you can use your index, middle and ring fingers on your strumming hand to pluck the strings.

Each technique will give the progression a different sound quality and feel, so go ahead and try both. It's a relatively short exercise, so playing both ways won't eat into much of your time.

Here are the downloads - let's get right to it.

See you back here tomorrow.

Peace~
