If we were still in Ohio, we'd probably be having lunch with family. So instead, we're going to go out and have a burger and fries - one of my wife's favorite meals. We're going to head to Red Robin, where she's got a credit for a FREE burger - another thing she loves!

I started tabbing out the chords for the song I'm working on, but I'm running out of time today, as there's still a lot to do after the flooring went down yesterday. So I'll give just a little background and send you the chords tomorrow.

The song is working out to be in the key of E major. I'm really drawn to airy sounding chords that make use of open strings, and this one is no exception. I started with an open E major shape with notes B, E, and G# (fifth string second fret, fourth string second fret and third string first fret).

If you slide that shape up the neck so the first note is on the fifth string seventh fret (keep your fingers in the same shape) and strum all six strings, you'll have an A chord plus a B note, which has a very cool effect.

This is actually the first chord in the progression, which makes it the IV chord in the key of E.

You know, it'll be easier when you have the tabs in front of you, so I'll let them show you how good this chord sounds.
