Hey all you cool Cats and Kittens,
Tricks? Or Treats? I thought since today is a fun day of costumes and candy here in the States, I'd dig into the vault and pull out a little treat for you from Guitar Tricks.
Special guest Tony Bones taught a lesson on the Guitar Tricks Channel in 2011, taking time out from his Netherworld Tour to help out all aspiring guitar players.
I appreciate that he points out at 2:12 that what he's playing is movable - you can play an A minor chord anywhere on the neck that you find the notes of the chord. Haven't I been saying that, too?
Sadly, I couldn't get to this little gem on their website, but I was able to find it on Youtube. Heeeerrrrre's Tony!
If you liked that, Tony was also a guest on the channel in 2010. He didn't dress for the occasion, but he makes up for his appearance with another good lesson.
In 2012, Tony was out on tour and couldn't make it to the Guitar Tricks studios, so Sharon Aguilar graciously hosted the show for Halloween. You might know her from her work with CeeLo Green.
I know we've only been talking about major keys, but as you hear from today's installment, the minor keys have a lot to offer as well. We will get there, but remember, there are twelve each of major and minor keys.
Hmm, maybe we should mix it up a bit and talk about a couple of minor keys? What do you think? Maybe the relative minors of C and G major? Let me know.
Happy Halloween!
Peace~
