Hey Friend,
On this day, 240 years ago, thirteen little British colonies signed a document called the Declaration of Independence, sparking the American Revolutionary War. They were telling the British that there's a new kid in town, the United States of America. As history shows, the king of England didn't take kindly to the scrappy band of colonists...
This act of defiance cost the brand new country dearly, but as the saying goes, freedom isn't free. They dug in and did what it took to gain their freedom.
In the process, they also created a country where you can pursue any opportunity you desire. Be who you want to be, do what you want to do...
Today, most of us celebrate that day with family picnics, cook outs, games and parades, with fireworks at night. In fact, while most cites put on a professional fireworks display, many neighborhoods also have firecrackers and bottle rockets going off long into the night.
I hope you use today to remind yourself of the sacrifices others have made to allow you the freedom of choice. Get out, have some fun and remember to play that guitar...
Happy Fourth of July!
Peace~
