I was checking out my favorite online guitar magazine and saw the announcement that ELO is touring in 2018! That’s the Electric Light Orchestra, for those of you who don’t know…
This is the first time in 35 years that ELO has toured in the United States since 1981. I was lucky enough to see that tour in Cleveland, promoting their album "Time.”
I’m bummed that I won’t get the opportunity this time around - they aren’t coming anywhere close to Orlando, so I’ll have to keep my eyes open for Youtube videos.
I’ve been an ELO fan since the late 70s. My first taste was the album “Out of the Blue,” which a friend down the street had. I would borrow it and read over the album cover while it played.
That was part of the vinyl experience - all the concept art on the album covers. There were so much imaginative art that went into the covers, and I could get lost for hours looking at them and reading the notes.
