Hey Friend,
You get a break today. Ol' Davey is back in the dentist's chair having him fix one of the teeth he worked on last week. It just ain't quite right yet...
It's nice that we don't have to be so precise with music. Even when we make a mistake with a chord or note, it's pretty easy to recover. Just move on to the next chord or note, and try to stay with the beat.
Not so with teeth. When something's wrong, it's a constant.
Gotta get this shiznit right!
Speaking of moving on, or more like NOT getting hung up on mistakes, think about that for a second.
What do you usually do when you hit a wrong note or the chord shape isn't quite right? Do you keep playing the song, or do you stop in frustration?
When you watch a pro playing, do they ever stop in the middle of a song because they hit a sour note? NO, they make it look like that's what they meant to do. Or they laugh it off.
I think we all have a tendency to want to want a do-over, but when you're in the heat of battle, you don't have the luxury. You've just got to go for it and make the proverbial lemonade from the sour notes.
Just rock it out! Talk to ya later...
Peace~
