Hey Friend,
Yesterday was only a little weird at the j.o.b.
Boss was still out. Office manager has made a point of telling us the company is doing fine financially and that we’ll continue moving along as we have.
But in the year that I’ve been there, I don’t remember a time when the boss came out and publicly thanked everyone for working hard and that he appreciates what we do.
I hate to say it, but having the office manager tell us that is a bit unnerving. It's raising more questions than answers.
We’re just so used to there being whispers and closed doors - not to mention a total lack of communication from management. Half the time we don’t hear about a new client starting until they call in with their first problem (even before they’ve been properly on-boarded).
So yeah, this is a new thing…
Whatever, I’m just going to continue on my new road to enlightenment: Bringing guitar goodness to the world…
There are enough signals telling me that’s the path I need to continue following.
I’ve proven to myself that I can teach guitar (co-owning a growing music school was a good clue), and while I’m no virtuoso, I can certainly help people on their guitar journey.
I think I’m pretty good with one-on-one and group lessons, and the Internet makes it easy to help anyone, anywhere.
It should make my grandfather’s spirit happy, too. That’s another story I’ll save for another day.
A sad week indeed, in a year where we’re losing far too many musical greats. And again, here was an artist that influenced so many other musicians.
There is some peace in knowing that his struggle with Alzheimers disease is over for him and his family.
R.I.P., Glen Campbell.
Peace~
Dave
