Hey Friend,
I hope your weekend is going well. Yesterday, I was able to finish something from the never-ending list of household improvements, and it feels good to check it off.
Hey, I need your help on something.
You see, there’s a common thread that you hear time and again from musicians, especially when you’re reading about it after an artist’s death.
The common thread is this:
This was a defining moment for so many Rockers that got their start in the late 1960s and into the 1970s.
So here’s my question:
What band or artist is inspiring today’s young people to become musicians?
Or is this even a factor these days due to the accessibility of music and the free apps people can use to create it? Is all the talent dying off?
I have to say, in my opinion there are some young musicians out there that have stepped up to try and fill the gap as Rock legends pass on. But more often than not, these new musicians are still inspired by old-school Rockers, not so much by anyone coming out after the fall of vinyl.
And not to the level that music saw after The Beatles hit the international scene.
I don’t think we’ll see another world-changing phenomenon like The Beatles. The world has gotten too small. Anyone with a cell phone can post a video to Youtube easily and have a worldwide audience.
I guess that’s what saddens me most when an artist with a long history dies and consequently puts another nail in the coffin of Rock pioneers. Guys that have been rockin’ since the 1960s…
If you have some suggestions for newer Rock pioneers, I’m all ears. Help a brother out...
Peace~
Dave
