Hey Friend,
We had a bt of nostalgia last night and ended up watching " Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Wow, I didn’t remember how many great songs were in that movie!
Talk about the quintessential 80s film. We had most of the Eagles represented, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Jackson Brown, The Go-Gos, Sammy Hagar (pre-Van Hagar), The Cars, Stevie Nicks… even Oingo Boingo (props if you know who the frontman was)!
Even Nancy Wilson (Heart) makes an appearance in the film.
Then you look at all the actors that had roles in the film, many of which went on to become famous - Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Sean Penn, Eric Stoltz, Anthony Edwards, Forrest Whittaker… and who can forget Nicolas Cage (who’s listed in the credits as Nicolas Coppola).
It’s definitely not a film masterpiece, but it’s nice to go back every once in a while to revisit the past, and the soundtrack brings back a ton of good memories for me. The 80s was a simpler time, and this film captures a lot of the fun of that time (as well as some of the issues we shared with today).
If you haven’t seen it and want to have a few laughs, I’d recommend watching. Check out the trailer here.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Peace~
Dave
