Subject: F# Diminished Barre Chords

Hey Friend,

Guess what day it is? Yup, time for barre chords! Hurray!

F#° turns out to be easier as a triad than as a barre chord.

The root 6 barre chord is at the second fret. Place your index finger on the sixth string at the second fret. Your middle finger goes on the fifth string third fret, and your pinky is on the fourth string, fourth fret.

The root 5 version starts on the fifth string, ninth fret with your... wait for it... index finger. Use your middle finger on the tenth fret of the fourth string. Your pinky goes on the third string, eleventh fret, and lastly your ring finger on the second string, tenth fret.

Get the exercise files here.

As you likely realize now, these fingering a can be a bit awkward. If you ever find yourself needing a diminished chord, feel free to use one of the triads from yesterday rather than the full barre chord.

Save yourself a little trouble, right? Not that you'll really see diminished chords very often at all, especially with Rock music.

Alright, I'll let you get back to your Saturday. Have a great one!

Peace~
