Hey Friend,
We had a phrase when I was in the Army to describe being worn out and running on empty... we called it "draggin' bag." It's been a heck of a week for me already.
Y'all heard about my job in North Carolina falling out. What I didn't mention was that another company I had interviewed with back in March called me in for a second interview last week. Of course, I thanked them and told them about this awesome contract I was already on, and no thank you.
Queue the ominous music as the rug got pulled out from underneath me.
Monday, I called that little company back and scheduled the interview for Tuesday. The offered me the job, despite my cool reaction to the offer. Yes, I'm still crying a little over spilled milk...
Whatever, right?
Yesterday, my daughter and I went to a concert and didn't get back in town until nearly 1AM. Yes, it was a good concert. No, I didn't get anywhere near enough sleep. Up early to make the donuts and get the day going...
We went to see Weezer and Panic! At The Disco. It seemed like a strange lineup to me, but it worked out. Both bands put on a good show, and the crowd was a decent mixture of age groups.
I paid particular attention to the guitars (obviously) and enjoyed seeing that Weezer's rhythm guitarist (Brian Bell) was rocking a Gibson Explorer. Every other guitar form both bands were Fenders. Stratocasters, Mustangs and Telecasters. Even the basses were Fenders. I tend to be partial to to a double humbucker pickup, but after the show I'm thinking I need to get my hands on a Fender - you know, to mix it up tonally.
We'll see how things roll out with this new job... seeing as I have a hard time holding on to them!
Back at you later.
Peace~
