Subject: D Major Barre Chords

Hey Friend,

Happy Sunday to you! I've been working through all sorts of fun little chores around the house, so now it's time to take a little break and touch base with you.

Today's message is about the D major barre chords. I put together some exercise files for you to try out, both in the root 6 and root 5 positions, respectively.

As usual, both barre chord shapes are second inversion triads. That means the note order when played is 5 1 3, or A D F#. Of course, both of these chords start with the root note D, either on the sixth or fifth strings. So you're actually playing D A D F#.

As you play through the exercises, I've broken them down to add the chord notes as you progress along the tabs.

The first four measures (bars) provide you with just the index finger barring all the strings. It's good to practice these as they help you strengthen your fingers. The following measures take you note by note until the chord is completed.

There's not much more to add at this point, so check them out when you have a moment. I know it's late in the day, but you've got them now if you want to play around with the chords.

Rock it!

Peace~
