Hey Friend,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend (in the US at least) and are weathering the avalanche of Black/Cyber emails coming to your inbox... #Buried
I’ve been building barn doors for my office/studio so I can get a little privacy at the house. My office is the former living room of the house, with a large opening to the front foyer.
With the family room on the opposite side, there’s a lot of noise bouncing around, and it makes it really hard to concentrate.
I even have noise-canceling headphones (like for a gun range) to try and help, but those present their own set of challenges.
I have acoustic panels mounted on the wall (built those earlier this year), but that wide open wall defeats any benefits from the sound dampening of the panels.
Sooo, barn doors.
Once they are hung, I’ll add foam acoustic panels to the doors. Then maybe, just maybe, I’ll feel like I have a spot to call my own in the house…
Maybe then I can actually play my guitar through an amp without someone asking me to turn it down because they're trying to watch TV.
I know, I know, cry me a river…
But everyone needs a place where they can escape for a little while and be by themselves…
Let their hair down...
Think...
Peace~
Dave
P.S. How did you do with the practice prompt from last week?
Did you have any epiphanies about your picking hand technique? Raise your awareness about your tone? Identify any problems?
Let me know!
