Subject: C to Am

Hey Friend,

I running again this morning, but I do have the exercise files ready!

Now that we have A minor in the stable, we can play just about any song written in the key of C major.

With the fingering I've taught you, the only real challenging chord change would be A minor to G major. Otherwise, your fingers are in a good [position for most other chord you might need to play. C to A minor is an easy change because the only finger that has to move is your ring finger, from the fifth string to the third.

A minor to F isn't too bad, either. Again, your ring and middle fingers do a little dance around each other, but their proximity is close.

If you are at all familiar with the band Styx, I took the last system in the tabs from their song "Come Sail Away", from the album The Grand Illusion. Yes, this progression is from an actual song! Here's a pretty good live version of "Come Sail Away."

I've got to roll, so try these out and enjoy! Send me any questions that come up. Happy Friday!

Peace~

Dave
