Hey Friend,
Yup, no email yesterday. I was a bum. It wasn't that I had something else going on or that I didn't intend on writing. I just got caught up in other stuff.
Not that I wasn't thinking about you...
I did make a decision as to how The Chord Clinic and Learn To Play Rock Guitar will move forward. I'm gonna let you decide what it's worth.
The platform is Patreon, and it gives you the power to decide what you want to contribute to help creators continue to create. You basically become a patron, or a supporter, of the creator, like in the old days when a king would commission an artist to paint his portrait.
You get to select at what level you want to support. That way, I create the things you really want to learn, and you get to help make it happen.
There are a couple ways this could go. Depending on the way it's set up, you can either contribute on a monthly recurring basis, or you can contribute a set amount for everything an artist creates.
The second way works great if you're releasing things like short videos or single songs without a regular schedule, but for things like guitar lessons, it makes sense to have a monthly recurring option.
Now don't worry - I'm not going to change the business model and leave anyone out in the cold. You're still going to receive the lessons in email like you always have. But there will be supplemental materials and other downloads for anyone that decides to become a patron of the site.
I'm still working out the various details, but becoming a patron will be easy. For private lessons, I would normally charge $100 per month. This won't be anywhere near that. In fact, there will be some levels that are less per month than you would spend on a single cup of coffee.
More to follow...
Peace~
