Hey Friend,
I've got nine different positions for the A minor chord in today's lesson. I seemed to have a counting problem, because the MP3 has two instances of the seventh version of the chord. So when you get to the seventh bar, if you're playing along and the tab doesn't line up with the audio, just play the seventh chord twice. Here are the exercise files.
As we do for each chord, the first five shapes are the versions that fit in the CAGED system.
There are four root inversion chords, three second inversion and two first inversions.
Root note order is 1 3 5 = A C E First inversion order is 3 5 1 = C E A Second inversion order is 5 1 3 = E A C
Try out each chord shape to get a feel for the difficulty or ease of each shape. You'll then know which ones you can use quickly versus the ones you'll need to practice more (if you ever end up using them at all).
Peace~
Dave
