When we are trying to lose weight, the concept of eating fat seems counterproductive. If I’m trying to get rid of fat and going for weight loss, why would I eat more of it?
Well, bodies seem to be a lot more complicated than they are, and, typically, they run the same and require the same things. For nutrition, our bodies all need the same three macronutrients: carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
Carbohydrates are the body’s first source of energy. When we need a boost, we quickly burn through the carbohydrates that are available.
If we are very active, we will burn all of the carbohydrates. In that case, our bodies go to the second source of energy: fat. |
