I hope you and your family had a great summer.

We had an action-packed summer prepping for two big events with The Gardiner Foundation- the 2nd Annual Basketball Clinic and the 12th Annual Memorial Basketball Tournament. Thanks to the generous donations from our friends and families, both were huge successes with more given back to the community than ever before.

To our friends who have donated this year- we are so grateful for your kindness. You have helped thousands in the South Bronx. If you didn't get a chance to donate yet, it's not too late, as the foundation runs year-round.

Rain didn't stop more than 200 children, ages 7-15, from coming to St. James Park in the Bronx on June 24th to learn high-level skills to improve their game. Most importantly, the clinic provided a safe and worry-free environment.

This year's 12th Annual Gardiner Memorial Basketball Tournament was held on August 19th-20th at St. James Park. More than 750 backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to the community youth, along with five college scholarships, numerous tablets and other electronic devices. Thousands of people were fed and support was given to those in the South Bronx community who had recently lost loved ones.

Each year, the Gardiner Foundation outreach expands further into the community. The foundation does incredible work to help keep the youth of the South Bronx community off the streets and help those most in need. Not only do we run an annual basketball clinic and tournament, but we also run a Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, a holiday toy giveaway, and a Tru Talk program aimed at teaching the area youth to stay in school and use their education to help give back to the community.

Last year at the Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, we were able to hand out 750 turkeys with Thanksgiving meal fixings to families in need. This year, our goal is to hand out 850 turkeys and meals. We also plan to hand out at least 200 toys during the annual toy drive.

If you haven't donated this year, it's not too late. Any amount you can contribute will go directly to the foundation to help offset the costs of this year's tournament and our other community outreach initiatives.
