Family Of Son Killed in White Plains Crash
Files Suit Against Three Local Bars
Penelope Ward, the mother of 27 year-old Isaac Ward, who was killed in a car crash, filed a lawsuit against the driver and the three local bars that served the driver excessive alcohol in January 2017. The complaint alleged that Harry Kyreakedes, the drunk driver, and the bars – Brazen Fox, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ in White Plains, and Celtic Corner in Dobbs Ferry – should be held responsible because they were “negligent, reckless and careless.”

According to the personal injury lawsuit, Kyreakedes and Ward had been hopping between the three local bars, drinking heavily on January 1, 2017 and into the following morning. Then, the two friends got into Kyreakedes’ Jeep Grand Cherokee. After driving for only a few blocks, Kyreakedes crashed his SUV into a tree outside the CVS Pharmacy located at 325 Mamaroneck Ave. They each suffered serious injuries. Ward was given CPR at the scene of the crash, but was later pronounced dead at White Plains Hospital.

"This is all about doing your job," says Jeff Korek. "A bartender is a gatekeeper. There is a responsibility as a gatekeeper to make sure your patrons are not under the influence when you serve them. If they are, you do not let them leave and drive home"

Determining Whether You Have a Cruise Ship Medical Malpractice Claim
In order to determine whether you have a valid medical malpractice claim against a cruise line, it is best to immediately seek the legal advice of an experienced New York cruise ship medical malpractice attorney. However, you can initially consider the following important questions:
  • Did the medical staff diagnose you incorrectly?
  • Did you experience pain or injury after receiving medical care onboard the ship?
  • Did your symptoms worsen during the cruise?
  • Did you require emergency hospitalization?

If you are injured or get sick while onboard a cruise, you will have no choice but to rely heavily on the cruise ship medical staff to treat your injuries competently. There are limited options out at sea, so it is imperative that the cruise line staff respond to your medical needs immediately and professionally.
