Happy Holidays from Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C.
The Gardiner Foundation has been helping those most in need in the South Bronx for the past 10 years. On Saturday December 23, the Gardiner Foundation and Gersowitz Libo and Korek, P.C. hosted The Gardiner Annual Toy Drive at P.S. 86 in the Bronx.

More than 300 children were given lunch followed by a dance off contest, a visit from Santa, a gift and a stocking stuffer. A special thank you to everyone for your continued support.

OSHA Delays Crane Operator Certifications
A booming construction industry also brings a significant rise in the number of construction related accidents. Construction accidents and deaths jumped 240 percent from 2011 to 2015. This streak shows no sign of slowing down – nationwide. One of the most common and deadliest types of construction accident is a crane accident. In an effort to specifically reduce crane accidents, OSHA has spent many months working on a new rule requiring crane operators to be certified. This new rule was supposed to go into effect on November 10, 2017.

On November 9th, OSHA published a Final Rule that effectively postponed this requirement for one extra year. The Final Rule states “OSHA is delaying its deadline for employers to ensure that crane operators are certified by one year until November 10, 2018. OSHA is also extending its employer duty to ensure that crane operators are competent to operate a crane safely for the same one-year period.”
