This month things start off with some very wild energy in the skies! The first few days are especially charged! This month we will experience several planetary shifts, Mercury Retrograde and a Black Moon (the second new moon in a month) not to mention the interaction between some planets. This is some intense cosmic energy hitting our planet, so hang on!
We start the month with a New Moon in Scorpio (9 degrees). This is a time of rebirth. One of Scorpio’s symbols in astrology is the phoenix, the mythical bird capable of burning itself in flames and turning to ash but then rebirthing itself from its ashes. Henceforth, transformation is a keyword for Scorpio and when we have a New Moon in this sign, this can be a significant time for metamorphosis. In the chart of the United States, this is occurring in the 11th house of groups and politics. That same day Mercury is making a trine to Neptune, adding a layer of emotional intensity to this already deep feeling Moon. Mercury in Scorpio is a detective, using its keen eye to pierce through the darkness and see what’s hidden underneath. Will secrets be revealed with this? Will illusions shatter or will they hold even more delusion? Neptune’s lesson is to listen to the quiet voice within us, our intuition, to see through the illusions, else we fall victim to confusion. The only way out is to go within, listen to your heart and be true to yourself.
Mercury enters Sagittarius on November 2nd. Mercury doesn’t do its best when in this sign, thoughts and communication can be scattered and not really based on facts. Opinions tend to run strong with Mercury in Sagittarius energy and we can all too easily overlook the truth when seeking to validate our own opinions. I advise doing your best to keep an open mind yet one free of judgment, to allow for the differences to teach us more about ourselves rather than divide us.
Sagittarius reminds us to look at the bigger picture; we are all One. Be love, give love, and let love guide you. This is the only way, everything else is an illusion. Don’t fall for it.
On November 3rd, Mars, the planet of action, is busy. First he will make an opposition to Pluto, with both planets at the final degree of the signs of Cancer and Capricorn respectively. This is extreme tension and can be felt throughout the collective. It’s a conflict between desires and actions and has the potential of resulting in violence. Do be mindful of your energies during this time, especially if you happen to have a personal planet making a difficult aspect to this. However, this energy has an upside, it can be used for creative transformation and finding courage and strength through difficult times.
Mars will be going retrograde in December and will make this opposition to Pluto twice more before the spring of next year so we are not done with this yet. Later on the 3rd, Mars will enter the sign of Leo and for a few weeks we have a fiery energy behind Mars, giving us a heated boost towards our goals before it goes retrograde next month, forcing us to rethink our actions.
On November 11th, Venus enters Capricorn and we tend to view things with a little more sobriety with this. It asks us to get real, especially about our desires and how we go about fulfilling them. It’s not necessarily warm and fuzzy, it’s practical and realistic. Sometimes this is just what we need, other times it can really kill the fun. Venus is here until December 8th.
We have a Full Moon in Taurus on November 15th (24 degrees). This is also involving Uranus, the planet of shocks and surprises and also the planet that rules Aquarius, the sign of the people. On the same day, Saturn ends its retrograde. A couple of days later, the Sun moves into opposition to Uranus and over the next couple of days, Mercury opposes Jupiter and the Sun trines Neptune. Then on the 19th, Pluto will enter Aquarius (and will stay there until 2043!) and we will be rebirthing society with this.
These few days in November are ripe with tension but it seeks development, encouraging us to change where we need to and to have the faith that something good can come from it. Sometimes this change is welcomed and other times it feels forced upon us, but it’s good to realize that everything changes and nothing is constant. In fact, the only thing that is truly constant is change.
On November 21, the Sun will enter Sagittarius and the energy shifts. Perhaps this will allow us all to see the bigger picture and to gain a deeper understanding behind it all. Sagittarius energy is broad minded, allowing us to grasp more abstract concepts and implement them into our belief system. The Sun will be here until December 21st.
On November 25th, Mercury will go retrograde until December 15th, moving backwards from 22 degrees of Sagittarius to 6 degrees of Sagittarius. Mercury retrograde asks us to go back over things, to take a closer look at things and to fix all the glitches. It gets a bad reputation and not without cause, but it can be used to get ourselves back on track, to take care of things we’ve been neglecting and to refine what we need to. I tell people to make the best use of this by thinking of the words that start with the prefix “re” during a Mercury retrograde. That is; redo, rewrite, repair, refine, etc. Look to see which house is ruled by Sagittarius in your chart to get an idea of where your “re” focus will be needed over the following days. If you need help with this, come see me for a reading.
We end the month with another New Moon, this time in Sagittarius (9 degrees). The second new moon in a month is known as a Black Moon. This is a rare occurrence just like a Blue Moon but the Black Moon is said to carry some extra intense energy for magickal and manifestation workings. Since this is happening in Sagittarius, I would make the best use of this by combining the Mercury retrograde lessons with your intentions. Set your intentions to align with the area of your life that needs reworking and let the New Moon’s energy carry you forward with renewed hope and optimism!
In numerology, this month is a Number 1 Universal Month. This is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. Technically it’s a 10, and although it’s read as a 1 in numerology, the zero here has a special significance. According to some numerologists, the number 10 is said to be a clean slate. It marks a completion. It wipes the karma clean and allows for a brand new beginning. This is promising and surely needed right now for our planet! Make the best use of this by releasing the past, letting go of what you think you should be and by embracing who you are creating yourself to be. You are not living your life to please others, remember that. And don’t be afraid of change, allow yourself to stretch outside of your comfort zone to discover new heights within yourself. Don’t let this world take your power. You are far more powerful than you let yourself believe, and it’s the promise of a new day that keeps us going. Life is meant to be good, something inside you tells you that. Let that guide you to your good life. And I promise you, there is always a new day.
I hope you have a good month and that you find your peace while the world works in chaos around us. Come see me if you need some guidance from the universe. Remember to listen to your heart and as always…
May the stars guide you,
Rachelle
