May 2024 Astrology and Numerology Forecasts
This month we are tasked to get to work and plan for the future. It’s not easy when we look at the world at large and see the chaos before us. But we are evolving as a species and if we tune in and listen to our hearts, we will see that there is a peaceful way to the world we wish to create. This month I encourage you to take some time to tune in to your inner self, to the soul within you and see what guidance it has for you. Then be brave enough to take a step in the direction you feel called. I promise you, if you take the time to really listen in, you won’t be sorry.
We start the month with Pluto going retrograde on May 2nd and this isn’t normally too extraordinary, however since Pluto is in the first few degrees of Aquarius, this is significant. Pluto will be moving backwards from 2 degrees of Aquarius to 29 degrees of Capricorn over the next six months, so this is the last time through Capricorn for the planet of death and rebirth for another 140 years or so. Pluto will then make its way back towards Aquarius and will remain in Aquarius until the year 2043. This could definitely signal a reach for power (Pluto) by the old control systems (Capricorn) which will affect the people (Aquarius). It’s important not to get too caught up in what the government is doing right now as it will inevitably change. I see these new energies begin to create a new and solid foundation after November 2024 when Pluto enters Aquarius for good. We are seeing the same sort of energy we saw in the skies at the time of the American and French Revolution, this is a rebellious energy that demands freedom from tyranny. Things are sure to get more exciting on the political scene, hang on to your hats and don’t trust everything you hear.
We have a New Moon in Taurus on May 7th at 18 degrees of Taurus. This New Moon is also sandwiched between Venus, Uranus and Jupiter. This is an excellent time for setting goals for the long run as Taurus has a stick-to-it-ness quality to it and will assist you in reaching the finish line, even if it takes a while. This is also an excellent time for spending time in nature, meditating and being present in the moment. One of the mottos that comes to mind when I think of Taurus is “Take time to stop and smell the roses.” So be sure to slow down around the New Moon and be present in your physical experience, bring mindful awareness to the everyday things that you do and you will find a greater level of appreciation for the experience of just being in the moment. It’s a great time to treat yourself too as Taurus is ruled by Venus who loves luxury, beauty and all the fine things! So get a massage, a new haircut, a pedicure or whatever it is that your body is wanting just for the sheer pleasure of it and enjoy the sensual pleasures of the Taurus energy.
Speaking of Taurus, Mercury will be entering that sign on May 15th and will be there until June 3rd. While Mercury is here, we might find that our communication style slows down a bit and our minds want to stick to one thing. Sometimes this is a benefit, other times it can become obsessive. It’s always a good use of this energy to take the time to slow down and be present so I recommend starting a daily meditation practice during this Taurus time. On May 18th, Venus will be conjunct the planet Uranus in the sign of Taurus at 23 degrees. This could bring some very magical and romantic energy for some of us, but do be careful as Uranus has a rather unusual and unstable nature. This could also bring in some unexpected news or activity involving Venus ruled topics: relationships, love, money, jewelry, food, resources, land, beauty, fashion, art, and pretty much all material goods of value. On May 20th, the Sun enters the sign of Gemini and the energy shifts from the slower, easy going energy of the earth sign, Taurus to the quick moving, cerebral and social energy of Gemini. Look to see where Gemini is in your chart to see where in your life you should put your energy and focus while the Sun is here as this is the area being highlighted right now. Gemini energy is very much about the exchange of ideas and this covers a lot of things. The best use of this time is to work on things that involve gathering or exchanging data, although not necessarily analyzing it. This is an excellent time for socializing, for playing games, for writing or reading and for learning. Gemini is the sign of the student and it loves to learn new things, so if you’ve been thinking of taking a class or learning a new skill, now is an excellent time for it! The Sun will be here until June 20th.
On May 23rd, we have a Full Moon at 2 degrees of Sagittarius and we also have Venus entering the sign of Gemini. A Full Moon is always a time of increased emotional energy and in a fire sign, we are usually inspired by this energy. This may or may not be a positive inspiration though as Sagittarius energy isn’t known for careful planning and often leaps before it looks! With Venus coming into the mix, we might be motivated to satisfy our immediate desires without thought of the consequences. Use caution when making decisions around this time!
On May 25th, Jupiter enters Gemini and will be here for the next twelve months. It’s generally a good thing whenever Jupiter is involved but in Gemini, this planet doesn’t do so well. It’s frustrated energy here and sometimes we might find ourselves sharing more than we intended or exaggerating our experiences or becoming bogged down with too many details or just the opposite, neglecting important details. However in your own chart, wherever Gemini is will be expanded and usually benefited by Jupiter’s presence. Any activities that increase your sphere of influence and help you to reach out to more people will be benefited at this time. In numerology, May 2024 is a number 4 universal month. Number 4 months are usually best utilized by getting organized, managing the details and making plans. This isn’t necessarily a fun and jolly number, it’s one of responsibility and management. This could be good for those of us who could use a little more structure and discipline in our lives! Otherwise, this could feel like a bit of a burden or at the very least, like it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Take advantage of this time and make some concrete plans, time this with the New Moon on the 7th and you have some good energy to help you reach your goals!
