Although this month is short, it isn’t lacking in intensity! And you thought the last two years were crazy? Just wait. 

We have Saturn rulership dominating the month of February. Throughout the month, we will have between five and six planetary bodies in Capricorn and Aquarius. Saturn holds traditional rulership over Aquarius. All this Saturnian energy is asking us to get practical and get to work, but sometimes it can bring a dark cloud over our lives. It’s important to practice self-care all the time, but this month demands it if you want to keep your footing!

Also, we will have about a 3 month period with no planets in retrograde coming up. It is fairly common to have planets in retrograde (from our perspective) as they orbit the Sun, but it is actually quite uncommon to have a time with no planets in retrograde motion. After Mercury turns direct once more on February 3rd, we will have no planets in retrograde all the way through to April 29th. What does this mean? Well, it might feel like time is speeding up. This is a time for accelerated growth, but also possibly accelerated confusion as Neptune and Jupiter are dancing with each other in the sign of Pisces around this time. 

February begins with a New Moon in Aquarius on February 1st. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus in modern astrology and it carries with it the energy to break up routines, to bust up stuck patterns and to move us into a new way of living. This New Moon is conjunct Saturn and square Uranus, activating that energy we’ve been experiencing for the past couple of years of old vs. new. This is the battle going on in humanity’s consciousness. This is the rebellious energy we see against the tyranny many are experiencing right now all over the world. And if you don’t know about any of that, then I encourage you to start asking around and be sure to look outside the mainstream news because they do not give you the whole picture. There’s massive shifting going on in the world, but if you only get your information from a few limited sources, you may never even become aware of it. For as they say, “The revolution will not be televised.”

Mercury turns direct on February 3rd and will move once more through the last degrees of Capricorn before entering Aquarius once more on February 14th. While Mercury is in Aquarius (direct once more), we can expect our minds to be on hyperdrive! This is some very quick moving energy for Mercury and he rather likes being so electrified in his communication. Just be sure to take a break every now and then, or risk a mental burnout. Mercury will leave Aquarius on March 9th. 

Around February 5-7, we might be feeling a little hypersensitive and easily offended under a Mars/Chiron influence. Try not to take anything personally if you can help it. Things lighten up with Mars a few days later when he trines Uranus and helps us to let go of things and get us out of ruts. Mars in Capricorn is a hard worker and often wants us to take action towards our future goals, Uranus encourages us to shake things up and to do things our way. This is good energy to make changes and to be innovative toward achieving your goals.

On February 16th, we have a Full Moon in Leo and this can create a lot of drama for some people but it can also be a very invigorating time! It’s good energy for boosting self-confidence and for opening the heart. A choice may need to be made at this time, a decision between two paths with equal value due to the square aspect this Full Moon makes to the lunar nodes. On February 18th, the Sun enters Pisces and Pisces season (my season!) begins. With Jupiter and Neptune already in the sign, and the New Moon in Pisces coming on March 2nd, this will give us a big blast of Pisces energy. This can be a burst of creative imagination, spiritual growth or artistic inspiration. After the Sun enters here, we begin to feel the easing up of the Saturnian influence I spoke about earlier, and we can get a little more relaxed and expansive in our viewpoints. 

On February 22nd, the United States will experience its first Pluto Return. What this means is that the planet is returning to the same degree it was at when the country was founded in 1776. This is revolutionary energy! This is transformative energy and we have been under its influence for a couple of years already as Pluto moves through the last degrees of Capricorn. This can be sort of like a New Moon eclipse but for our nation. This is a time for planting new seeds for the future growth of this country and this is a time to completely renovate our nation. Pluto often represents power and control and as the planet moves into the sign of the people (Aquarius) over the next couple of years, our governments and those in “power” (Saturn) are not going to turn that power over easily and not without some form of revolution (Uranus) to break it up. What could this mean for us? A number of things, but I encourage you to keep your optimism for that is what will move you into the timeline you would rather experience. It’s all energy and it’s all a vibe game with that energy. Personally, I find it to be a very exciting time to be alive!

The last week of the month has some harmonious and supportive influences that are especially good for relating with others. Mars and Venus harmonize with Neptune which turns our attention inward, asking us to minimize the ego and reconnect with the soul. And Mercury works well with Chiron to help bring healing and understanding. 

February 24th has a minor blip of irritation or frustration as Mercury and Uranus square off, so be mindful of your words that day. If you should feel tension building, go take some time for yourself and remember it’s a short influence and will pass quickly.

At the very end of February, Mars and Venus will be building towards a quick but powerful conjunction to Pluto. This culminates on March 3rd, but there is a build up of energy to this for a few days just prior. This can make difficult conversations more intense and possibly heated, but that can be a good thing as real communication and solid truths are likely to occur as a result. 

In numerology, February 2022 is a number 8 universal month. The 8 is about power, authority and money…hmmm, sounds familiar. This is happening in a number 6 universal month, a year of responsibility, of the home and of the family. This could mean that we will see some changes in our economy as Uranus in Taurus threatens. We can also possibly see some changes in power or we might see more activity with those in power. This isn’t anything new as we’ve been witnessing but perhaps with the numerological influence, we will see some major shifts towards giving the power back to the people.

It is going to become even more important for people to come together, to work together and to harmonize their energies in order to facilitate healing and open the gateway to the New Earth. This is the time of the Great Awakening, also known as the time of Revelations and the Apocalypse (which means the revealing of that which was hidden).
