Konsthall C opens up

Become part of one of Northern Europe's most exciting art organizations!

Konsthall C is special in its close connections between program and structure. Its form allows for experiments and changes that impact the organisation. The themes addressed in the exhibitions informs the way we operate as a collective. This is an invitation to our international community, to participate in the construction of a new type of art organisation.

Monster Loves Bats

In November, Konsthall C will be filled with 500 bats, in one of the country's largest childrens’ exhibitions.

“Bats have so many exceptional qualities: echo location, flight, being nocturnal. They are pollinators and insectivores and they have impressive immune systems that we are beginning to learn from, especially through the advanced research as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic".

This is the opinion of Monster Chetwynd, a British artist who has been fascinated by bats for almost twenty years. She has worked with expressions such as paintings, performances and sculptures, often using bats as motif..

Ulrika Flink, artistic director at Konsthall C, has chosen Monster Chetwynd as this year’s artist. It also means that preschool educators can work together with a professional artist, in this case Monster, to develop their pedagogical work.

The exhibition at Konsthall C consists of a diorama with the bat as an object. A total of about 500 works of art by 500 children will be exhibited. During the exhibition period, all 5-year-old artists and their schoolmates are invited to openings, about 4 a day for 3 weeks! Due to this, we are open to the public only on weekends.

Spring release in Centrifug!

Saturday, November 20 at noon Konsthall C will release the Centrifug list for this spring !

Saturday, November 20 will be the release of the 6 exhibitor spots for Centrifug, our self-organized exhibition space. The principle is simple, you don't have to be well known, educated, or with tons of friends in the arts in order to exhibit. First come, first served!

This spring consists of 6 periods, all about 2 weeks each. The first period starts on February 25 and the last one ends on June 19. To get a spot at Centrifug you just have to come, queue and be early. Everyone is welcome. Anyone can line up for you and it is possible to be several for the same spot.

This year the release will take place in the Laundry Museum next to Konsthall C (same entrance as the gallery). Coffee and snacks will be available to spend this waiting time in a friendly and good mood.

Doors open at 9. List is released at 12 noon.

Released - Unreleased

"Patriarchal structures have a restrictive effect on the movements of the mind and body. To get released from these structures one needs to be both mentally and physically in motion. The constant movement demands a lot of energy, and it may come to an end. What sets the body and mind in motion again?"

Cariz Malekian Nordlöf exhibits in Centrifug during November.

During the period a performance will be performed daily. It consists of various movements, which I have been doing for the last ten years. The performance examines the mind and body oscillations between limiting structures and liberation. How can one regain energy when patriarchal structures have set one out of motion?

Exhibition: November 13–28

Performance: Every Saturday and Sunday at 1 PM.
