Welcome to Kid Chess club at Sope Creek! We are excited about seeing all of our chess students tomorrow, Tuesday, January 25th.
This semester will be filled with exciting chess, bughouse, and blitz games, as well as targeted lessons to ensure that your young chess player increases his/her skills and interest in the game.

Practice is central to improvement in chess and we encourage all of our students to play chess outside of the classroom. One easy way to do this is to visit the Kid Chess website. Click on the "Learn Chess" and "Play Chess" menu links on the homepage to get instant access to chess lessons, puzzles, cartoons and games.

Classes meet Tuesday, starting 1/25, and ending 4/19, with Trophy Day.

Dismissal will be at the cafeteria doors. Parents/Guardians must park and exit vehicles to pick up students. Follow the signs on the doors to pick up at the correct door. Students with last name A-M will be released from the cafeteria door closest to the main entrance doors. Students with last name N-Z will be released from the cafeteria door closest to the parking lot.
* On days where Chess club meets, please send your child to school with a note for their teacher that they will be attending chess after school
** We will notify you by email in the event of changes to class times, locations and/or dates.
