Dear Kid Chess Parents,
 
Our Spring Break Chess Camp at Chess Zone starts on Monday, April 4th. When you arrive at the center [MAP], please park and walk in for sign in.

REMINDERS:
  • Full-day Session is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
(Earliest Drop-Off Time: 8:45am. Pick-Up Time is promptly at 5:00pm)

Morning Session is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
(Earliest Drop-Off Time: 8:45am. Pick-Up Time is promptly at 1:00pm)

Afternoon Session is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

If your child takes medication during camp hours, please include written instructions explaining dosage times and amounts, as well as a contact phone number. Also, please let us know about any food allergies.


Kid Chess Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions (5 day)

What time can I drop off my child?
For morning and full day camp session, you may drop off your child any time after 8:45 a.m. Camp officially begins at 9:00 a.m. For afternoon camp session you may drop off your child any time after 12:45 p.m. Afternoon camp session officially begins at 1:00 p.m.

What time should I pick up my child?
Morning session pickup time is 1:00 p.m. and Full-day and Afternoon pickup time is 5:00 p.m. If you are running more than 5 minutes late, please give us a call at 770-575-5802.

What about lunch? (Morning and Full Day students)
You will need to provide your own lunch if you did not pre-purchase lunch during registration. Items containing nuts are not allowed due to many severe contact nut related allergies. Lunch can be purchased each morning. All students who purchased lunch receive pizza on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Chicken Nuggets/Tenders & Chips are served on Tuesday and Thursday. Lunch also includes 1 juice box each day. Lunch is served around 11:30 a.m.

What about snacks? (Full Day and Afternoon students)
We do not provide snacks. For our afternoon and full day campers, snack time will be mid-afternoon. If your child would like snack, please send a snack with them. Items containing nuts are not allowed due to many severe contact nut related allergies.

What time should I be back on Trophy Day?
Morning students will have awards at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Afternoon students will receive awards at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Full Day students will receive awards at approximately 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday. If you would like to watch the awards presentation, please return at these times.

How can I contact someone at Camp?

What activities will there be?
Kids will have the opportunity to compete with peers and play and learn from knowledgeable coaches. Campers can participate in a variety of tournaments (Chess, Bughouse, Blitz and Blindfold Chess). They will also engage in exciting challenges such as obstacle courses, puzzle solving, teaching simuls, and more. We will offer activity breaks (tennis shoes are suggested).

How can I find out how my child is doing?
Most students will work with several different coaches throughout the camp. If you’d like to know how your child is doing, you can ask the coaches. They will be able to give you a quick update or direct you to a coach who can.

 
Parents must come in to the building to sign in/out their student from camp.
