Some awesome new folks have joined Kid Chess this semester, and we would like to introduce them!
| Kid Chess Coach Spotlight | Hey folks, It's time for the third installment of the Kid Chess Coach Spotlight Newsletter. Read the bios below and get to know some of our awesome new teammates. | This week, we're introducing Coaches Lakshmi, and Laura! | | | | Lakshmi is originally from India and moved to the U.S. in 1998. She has been playing chess since elementary school and primarily played against friends and siblings as a child. Lakshmi enjoys the intricate strategy that chess offers as well as its focus on adaptation as a mental challenge. She has a Bachelor‘s Degree in Computer Science and worked as an assistant teacher in a Montessori school. She highly enjoys working with children, teaching them and creating an environment for children to share their passions. Lakshmi loves traveling, drawing and crocheting. | | | | Laura is originally from Addison, Illinois. She attended Southern New Hampshire University and received a BA in Creative Writing. She nannied children of all ages for eight years before transitioning to being a coach for Kid Chess. While she considers herself a casual player, she loves learning more and more about the game every day. In addition to chess, she loves running, writing, and playing video games. | | Thanks to these fantastic folks, and to all of you, for making this a great semester. Looking forward to the coming Winter-Spring semester with y'all.
