This week, we're introducing Coaches Lakshmi, and Laura!

Coach Lakshmi

Lakshmi is originally from India and moved to the U.S. in 1998. She has been playing chess since elementary school and primarily played against friends and siblings as a child. Lakshmi enjoys the intricate strategy that chess offers as well as its focus on adaptation as a mental challenge. She has a Bachelor‘s Degree in Computer Science and worked as an assistant teacher in a Montessori school. She highly enjoys working with children, teaching them and creating an environment for children to share their passions. Lakshmi loves traveling, drawing and crocheting.

Coach Laura

Laura is originally from Addison, Illinois. She attended Southern New Hampshire University and received a BA in Creative Writing. She nannied children of all ages for eight years before transitioning to being a coach for Kid Chess. While she considers herself a casual player, she loves learning more and more about the game every day. In addition to chess, she loves running, writing, and playing video games.

Thanks to these fantastic folks, and to all of you, for making this a great semester. Looking forward to the coming Winter-Spring semester with y'all.
