| Hello Friend,
Some of the nicest things about living in Canada is that we have the opportunity to visit areas where dark skies are actually preserved, to stargaze. What is a Dark Sky Preserve? Basically it's an area around a park that is designated to be kept free from light pollution, and to promote astronomy.
One such park that we have in Northern Ontario, on Manitoulin Island is Gordon's Park.
The owners of Gordon's Park, Rita and Terry Gordon have had the park designated as a Dark Sky preserve since August 2009. This simply means that they encourage and promote astronomy and do their best to keep light pollution to a minimum.
That is what makes Gordon's park a unique place to stargaze from!
And...that's why on Saturday July 21st, (11am) I will be heading over there to run a workshop on "How to Use your Telescope".
Now, what's cool about this is that it does not matter what kind of scope it is, how long you have had it, or even where you bought it from.
We will cover and go through the basics, step by step!
So this is my invitation to you, to join me. You would be surprised how a few basic pointers, can make all the difference.
I might add, that if you would like me to bring anything up from the store, to the Island, and as long as we have it in stock, I will be glad to deliver it at no extra cost (ie save shipping charges) to you at Gordon's park on Saturday.
Just give the store a call Toll Free 1 800 580 7160 or Local 416 783 4140.
Please Visit our website for more information.
Please contact Gordon's Park directly for information on Camping reservations, etc... at 705-859-2470.
I look forward to seeing you there, if you are able to make it!
Clear Skies,
