Don't Miss the Perseid Meteor Shower at a Sky near you tonite!
That's right folks, tonite is the night of the annual Perseid Meteor shower, which
is considered to be one of the best meteor showers of the entire year!
How to find them: Look towards the Northeastern part of the sky, towards
the constellation of Perseus.
This is where they appear to emanate from.
This shower is best observed from a dark sky location, and after midnite
(12th of August heading into the 13th after midnite).
This year the full Moon, will obscure the view of some of the fainter meteors,
however, you may still see some bright ones if you are observing from the City,
or a suburban location.
What you need: You don't need a telescope or binoculars to observe a meteor
shower, just your naked eye is best.
Bundle up, and be sure to take some bug spray with you just in case the
bugs decide to join in the fun! Grab a blanket, and a lawn chair and enjoy!
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
