Subject: You gotta be a saint to be a mother
Hello Friend,
Growing up with 3 sisters, in London, England made sure that my late mum,
was kept real busy.
I have 1 younger sister, Farah and two older sister's Jan and Mahj.
Now of course, being the only boy, my mom usually favored me when I managed to get in trouble.
You know, like locking my sister Farah out of the living room, so she couldn't watch tv after school.
My sisters would cry foul of course, but fortunately for me, my mom tended to be sympathetic,
when I'd explain that I was outnumbered.
Since my Dad travelled to Canada, to establish business, my mom had to deal with the
sometimes unruly household.
And it wasn't easy.
Life was just like Coronation Street sometimes.
My elder sisters would buy Beatles records, and have their friends over on the weekends, and have
house parties, and play the latest records that were on the top 10 charts.
And that's why my mum would qualify for sainthood.
I do miss my Mum, and wish now that I hadn't caused such grief on occassion.
And so to Mum's everywhere, it's a special day to remember them, whether they are present or not
and to be grateful, for all the hard work and sacrifices they make.
Clear Skies,
Ray "Mum's the word" Khan
PS If you never given your Mum, a look through your telescope, now's the time :)
