No, we aren’t going to do any such thing.
Well let’s just call it what it really is.
Violence. A man hitting another man on live television is not acceptable under any circumstances.
Even if it was a Hollywood style slap to the face.
I hope Chris Rock considers filing charges against Will Smith.
Will it happen? I don’t know.
Even worse: several women in the audience stood up and applauded the actions of
Will Smith.
What kind of a mixed message are we sending here? Violence is not ok, but it’s ok
if you can’t control your emotions?
I know the Oscars are desperate to attract an audience and some might consider that
this was a pre-arranged stunt, but I don’t believe that is the case here.
Smith was pretty angry as he walked away from Chris Rock and cussed at him as he
walked back to his seat.
While Smith did apologize to the academy while accepting his Oscar, he did not apologize
to Chris Rock immediately for his actions.
He did apologize a day later (and a dollar short) likely after his publicists told him that
he better pretend to be sorry.
Ok, rant over.
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
