Subject: Why you can't afford to buy cheap

Hello Friend,

You know what women hate in a man likely more than anything else?

It's a cheapskate.

Now years ago when I was on a tight budget, in some instances I had to be cheap, or budget accordingly.

Sure.  When you are starting out in life, that's often the case. Hell, I couldn't even afford a car.

I remember walking to the grocery store with my then new wife and pulling a shopping buggy behind me
in the dead of winter. Man, that sucked.

But we were starting out in life, and they were the breaks, since we had just bought a new house in Toronto
(when they were actually affordable, about $90,000 in a decent neighbourhood).

When I got my first NEW car, it was a Hyundai Pony,  (a total piece of crap btw).
Whenever it rained, the carburettor would crap out.
The engine gasket seal blew out before I even put 300 clicks on the odometer.

It was a cheap car and it's all I could afford at the time,

But what I find amazing today is that we often have customers who will come into the store to buy a
"quality telescope" and their budget is $200.

Seriously.

But here is the kicker. They are wearing Breitling Watches, dressed in expensive clothes, or perhaps
carrying a fancy Coach brand handbag.  (Some of those are worth 10k, I kid you not!)

When it comes to investing in a good quality telescope, they can't seem to make the connection.

Not all customers, but many.

We suggest that to have a positive experience in this hobby that you really need to spend at the very least
about $350 these days.

That is the very least to spend I might add.

Some people listen, some don't.

You buy cheap, you get cheap. And you get frustration.

So, my best advice is actually to spend a bit more than you actually budgeted.

Why?

Because I want  you to have a positive experience when you invest in gear whether that is a telescope,
CCD Camera or a new computerized mount.
