Subject: What's stopping you from getting out and observing?

Hello Friend,

While winter nights can be some of the best observing nights you will get over the course of the year,

But is there something that hold's you back from getting out, besides the cold weather.

Ok, cloudy nights (and we've had many of them lately, no doubt) but what else?

I would love to know, so just hit reply to this email and drop me  line and let me know....

For myself, one of the issues was that it was a lot of work to set up my 11" SCT telescope and
if I wanted to head out for an hour or so, it was too much effort so, it did not happen.

I mean I'm not 25 years old anymore......those times when I could observe all night, then
head off to an early morning tee off time at the golf course are long gone........

Solution?

I bought a William Optics 132mm Refractor and a very sturdy, good quality alt azimuth mount.

Literally, a grab and go telescope that I was able to take out at a moment's notice, even for a short period.

Believe me, even 30 minutes of observing, is better than none, and you are left with a great feeling satisfaction.

On those cold winter nights, on Manitoulin Island, in Northern Ontario, that's how I stay  warm.

Wishing you clear Skies,

Ray Khan

PS If you have a bulky telescope that you are just not using, then consider trading it in, and getting
something more portable that will give you more joy and satisfaction.
