                       Somalian pirates on the high seas are a nasty bunch indeed.

Just ask Captain Phillips (aka Tom Hanks) in the recent  movie of the same name.....

But you know what might be a tad worse than Somalian pirates?

Well let me explain....a lot of folks think that feminism was started in the early 1960's by the likes
of Gloria Steinem.

But not so.

Recently, when in Turks Caicos Islands I did a little research on the history, and found that the only
known and convicted  female pirates, Anne Bonnie and Mary Read plied their trade in the area.

Perhaps the first real "feminists" demanding "equal rights" as pirates.

And you didn't mess with these ladies either.   In fact, they hid out on what was called, Pirate's cove,
(now renamed Parrot's Cove after the developers got onto it).

Both female pirates eventually hooked up with Calico Jack, and were caught by British pirate hunters
after a brief struggle.

 All 3 were convicted of piracy, and to be hung.

Bonnie and Read escaped the gallows by pleading "quick with child".  Basically meaning they were pregnant
so they ended up in the hoosegow for life instead.

    You'll be happy to know that you won't have to sail the seven seas to "plunder the booty".
