Subject: What happened to Bun E. Carlos? I knew you were wondering....
Hello Friend,
When my 2 daughters were about 9 and 11, many years ago, I took them to see their very first rock concert.
And it was with none other than the band, "Cheap Trick", with Lead guitarist Rick Nielsen, who wore
a baseball cap, and a bow tie, and plaid trousers on stage.
Surely you remember the hit songs, "I want you to want me" and "Dream Police'?
Of course, the drummer was none other than Bun E. Carlos, who was always interesting to watch, because
he had a cigarette hanging from his lip.
Smoking was fashionable back in the day.
Cheap Trick is still touring, but it's rather odd, that Bun E. Carlos is not a performing member of the band
anymore.
What's odd, is that he still an "official" member of the band, according to Cheap Trick.
Sure, he had a few health issues from the past, and missed a few shows. but hey, Cheap Trick
without Bun E. Carlos?
It's like a telescope without an eyepiece!
Ain't doing a whole lot.
Now, I'm not going to pull a "cheap trick" on you here.
You are going to get the real, authentic goods.
And that is:
Check out the new iOptron CEM60! An extraordinary innovation in mount design...Now with a new payload!
This past year we introduced a new design concept -- the center-balanced equatorial mount (or CEM) called the ZEQ25. Now, we're proud to introduce theiOptron CEM60 with an increased payload of 60 lbs! The CEM60 puts the weight of the payload at the center of gravity allowing for greater natural stability. This makes the mount extremely light compared to its payload - a nice benefit when setting up at a remote site. And polar aligning is quick and accessible all the time since the polar scope is not blocked by the declination shaft.
The iOptron CEM60 is equipped with the most advanced GOTONOVA GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts available. Its database includes over 300,000 objects. The other features include an adjustable counterweight bar, magnetically loaded gear system, gear switches on both R.A. and DEC axes, screw/worm type latitude adjuster and built-in or customized cable management system. The CEM60 - a new category (and payload capacity) of mounts for viewing and astrophotography.

Yep, Ioptron has done it again.
A payload of 60lbs.
But it does not weigh anything close to what you might expect for a mount of this calibre.
Nuff said.
Clear Skies,
Ray Khan
PS Bun E. Carlos is presently suing his ex-bandmates, not happy with not being included on the tour.
Rock and roll is a vicious game! But that's another song, and another story, for another day.
