Subject: Warning; Could your telescope be suffering from the bug effect?
Hello Friend,
This is a rant: You were warned.
A customer came in this week looking to buy a telescope for her husband's birthday.
She brought a friend along with her who was an "expert" on telescopes.
He had purchased a telescope many years ago, so he came along to make sure that his friend got the right
telescope.
Never mind that we are knowledgeable and have expertise in the area and know telescopes
inside out.
Problem is he didn't have a clue; telescopes have changed over the years, and there are many
new features and designs.
To prove his expertise, he mentioned that all telescopes are affected by the "bug effect" and could we
confirm this to his lady friend.
We had no clue wtf he was talking about, and rather than embarrass him in front of his friend, we just
nodded our heads sheepishly in agreement.
Remember, he was the "EXPERT."
When it comes to telescopes, it's not that straightforward, so it's better to come in with an open mind and
be prepared to learn something than pretending you already know everything.
If you come into our store, you are going to talk to knowledgeable staff.
But you have to be prepared to listen.
We carry a large inventory in stock, so we are not going to sell you any old telescope just because it's
all we have in stock, and we need to get rid of it.
No, we are going to sell you the right telescope for your needs.
Rant over.
Several sales are coming to an end tomorrow. All can be seen on our website.
Here is one that is going away: The Meade Instruments Gem Sale
