Subject: Tracking problems with your equatorial mount?
Hello Friend,
One of the biggest issues amateur astronomers have with using an equatorial mount
is getting it to balance properly, once their telescope and camera's are mounted.
It can be a real headache!
I have seen people jury rig all kinds of solutions to solve the problem.
One rather desperate fellow even used duct tape and bungee cords to attach
extra weights to his mount.
That's really sad. And not a good ideal, because as I have also seen
this puts a strain on your motor drive mechanisms and can damage your motor drives.
An expensive repair, and the incovenience of having your mount out of commission
just when you want to use it.
The engineers at Ioptron took a close look at this and came up with a very clever idea:
Why not make sure the payload on the equatorial mount is over the centre of gravity?
And so the "Z" design, the center balanced equatorial mount was born!
If you are doing any kind of astrophotography, whether beginner or advanced
then I suggest you take a real close look at the tracking accuracy and the features
of this mount, iOptron CEM25-EC

Note the clever polar alignment assist features and total control from your Smart device,
Ipad or PC.

trade-ins.
