Valentine's day is next week.   Next Tuesday in fact.

So you want to look good to your sweetie, don't you?

Now, what do most men do on Valentine's day?   (I'm writing mostly to the guys, but this applies to women readers too).

Well they usually do these two things:

1) Buy some grossly overpriced flowers and a card.

2) Take their sweetie out to a fancy restaurant which is usually packed, lousy service, line-ups. yada Yada.

It's predictable and boring.

Now I'm not saying you can't or should not do those things.

But I am saying you might consider doing something completely different for a change.

Here are some ideas:

1)  Get home early from work and surprise her with a lovely dinner that you cooked.
     (Using the Colonel's services here at KFC does not count)

2)  Don't buy a Valentine's card; make her one.  That way it's special and more memorable.
     Make up a few lines of a poem of some sort. Nothing fancy, just simple choice words.

3) Buy one beautiful stem, with a small box of her favorite chocolate or Candy.
     A small stuffed monkey also works.

4) Take her out to dinner at a fancy restaurant that she has always wanted to go to, but not on 
     Valentines day, but another day when it's not so rushed and more relaxing

4) Gift certificate for a spa day, including mani-pedi, facial. 
 
And who knows, when it's your birthday, or Father's day or even Valentine's day you might find
yourself the lucky recipient of something special.
